**another long post. but could be interesting you know :P harap maklum :)**
Well, now that I drive, I don't have enough hands to hold my iPod to play games, or maybe type in some random thoughts that could be a potential post in this blog, or watch series. Tried playing boggle while I was stuck in a jam but... it's not that fun when you always have to watch out for your turn to drive forward or to make sure that others don't try to take advantage of you on the road, or to make sure you won't get honked by some angry drivers (just don't wanna admit how reckless I can be when I am driving :P)
So, what's my entertainment in the car? Let's list down some:
1) blast off some good music and sing em out loud.
Actually to get the perfect song to fit the mood is not easy. There are times I just had to shake the iPod endlessly till I get it. But that's the problem with shaking the iPod; somehow they go to the same song. To click next is quite troublesome, but then I do that more now. Explains why I can be reckless huh?
I do have my hyperdrive playlists (it depends on my mood jugak). Thanks to Apple's Genius. Let me share the most played one with you here:
Playlist name: Flathead (based on songs which are in the same category as this one)Songs:
The Fratellis' Flathead
Kaiser Chiefs' I Predict a Riot
Artic Monkeys' Flourescent Adolescent
The Strokes' Reptilia
The Strokes' Last Night
Franz Ferdinand's Do You Want To
The Killers' Bones
Kasabian's Club Foot
Arctic Monkeys' Old Yellow Bricks
Bloc Party's Banquet
Kings of Leon's Fans
Franz Ferdinand's No You Girls
The Killers' Sam's Town (Abbey Road Version)
The White Stripes' Blue Orchid
Razorlight's Golden Touch
The Strokes' Someday
Bloc Party's Helicopter
The Killers' Andy You're a Star
The Strokes' 12:51
The Bravery's Honest Mistake
Mika's Lollipop (Honestly idk why its in this playlist... haha but apparently I don't mind)
The White Stripes' Fell in Love with a GirlKings of Leon's On Call
Maybe I'll try to share my playlist (one at a time) every week. For what reason? I don't know. I just feel like sharing.
Well, one thing if you were to sing-a-long out loud in the car, don't you care about the other drivers, or especially the passengers. Definitely they'll give you that look. I did remember laughing when I saw one before, so more or less kena kat batang hidung lah kan. But that one, I actually stopped laughing in a second cuz I realized that it's not that funny. Well, its really a good way to release stress, so why not? Rather than just yelling to others even when they're not doing anything.
2) reflect on life. Actually it is not. It's more like, make a list on how dumb you can get sometimes when you're on the road.
Seriously, I am a bimbo when it comes to cars & driving. My sense of direction sucks. I can't really plan when I'm driving, which is really bad cuz sometimes my indecisiveness just makes me opt for wrong turns, extra toll, and of course, almost got me injured (or killed.. but that's a bit scary to talk about in the first place so let's just leave it in the bracket). And sometimes I tried to be a cheapskate and guess what? Don't ever be a cheapskate when you're on the road cuz you'll be spending MORE.
For example, today. I can just go straight and pay RM1 toll and go back home happily. But no, I opt for a way that I thought a shortcut without having to pay toll, and halfway thru I just realized its not a shortcut, and you have tu queue longer cuz the road is sempit. So extra time, extra petrol. and this always happen. pfftt.
Maybe I need more experience in driving. Heck, I am just like a toddler when it comes to driving. It has been only 3 months, and I've driven almost everywhere I go. My job made me travel, and I don't like to hop on others cuz its menyusahkan, so yes. My first day driving I even go into the highway.
Oh another bimbo thing I discovered while I'm on the road; I always have this mindset that you know, when there's a new highway, it also means that there's shorter way to get to another place. Well, come to think of it, distance wise, it doesn't make much difference. I am always complaining cuz although I am using the new highway, the time to reach (this is the timing from the GPS) is just almost the same as using other ways. So I can get upset. haha.
Maybe the distance is shorter, but the difference shouldn't be huge. What makes it feel like a shorter drive is a number of cars on that highway (like SKVE, you can drive130 really fast and smooth.. whoops. Please don't read/tell this dear policemen/JPJ officers. I was late for work) and the fact that you can drive faster.
3) call someone and have a chat.

I will try my best to maximize my time, and since sometimes thats the closest to socializing with other people (okay talking to families do not count ye) aka friends. But now that I don't have my handsfree with me (do you know I lost my Corby? wait, have I mentioned that I lost my phone before?) so I do this less. Maybe I should ask my dad if he still has it. I am using his old Omnia. Just a pain in the ass I tell you. Now I am thinking, iPhone 4 or Samsung Wave? hurm. Let's think about this later, yes?
4) Talking to myself on how I make mistakes while driving, or complaining on how some could be very selfish and ignorant when they're on the road.

I even laughed to myself a lot of times cuz I sing wrongly, or just realized how the words in the song actually talking about your sucky life, or the song is just so funny. You know, that is how sucky my life can be.
5) okay la. I do make time to reflect on my life. Like how do I want to manage the day, or what I can do to make it better (after a sucky day at work), etc. I did this a lot when I am really2 down.
I seldom listen to the radios. Growing interest on BFM & IKIM though. Less interest on Hitz.fm or Fly.fm. Don't get me wrong, their song choices are just a turn off. BFM has better song choices, and IKIM is just relaxing. Kills off the road rage feeling in me.
Well thats about it. I wanted to talk more about my driving experience - specifically on how being reckless can really cost you a lot. But I do have some work pending and I need to realize that time is running out.
Remember a post about inception? LOL wonder when I can post that one!
2 posts are pending. hurm.
p/s: wanna know something? I am not listening to any song currently. I put that one up just to make it as a title. LOL.
