M*NITE 2009 (cont.)

This is one of our first shots for the night.

I'm not in the mood to elaborate... so I am going to spam this post with photos. haha. But this event was great, I really enjoyed myself, despite the fact that my usual crowd weren't there. Everyone looked glamorous (woot2!) and, I like the ambiance - with the candles and nice lightings. The food were pretty good, not so much on the desserts though. So everything's good =D

This is what I wore for the night - Baju raya tahun ni :)

Thank You Organizers :D Congratulations!
and..

Thank You EVERYONE who came and rocked the event!

Oh, I made this:

feeling2 Kanye.
and Taylor Swift? :P haha

p/s: thank you photographers :D

I have photos to load, and some commentary on this event. But tengah malas, so, next time it is.

Enjoy the video!

The cloud & rain.

It was sunny last week. We can go out without thick jackets, just the cardie and sometimes the days become warmer, even the cardie is not needed.

That was nice since it is still winter time. Most of us assumed Spring has come. But come to think of it, its halfway through August, so winter should be over, right?

And on Friday night WMSO organized WMSO Costume & Talent Night 2009.

Such a cool event. I was really looking forward to it because I never dressed up in a costume before. On Vivy's birthday I was just mixing-and-matching up stuff (which in the end I didn't really look like Tinkerbell), and since we've found the costume shop that has stuff with my sizes, I finally get to dress up in a costume! And to my surprise, I really didn't expect everyone will go all-out for the night! so KUDOS to all of you XD. I felt a bit under-dressed (although it was pretty daring), but I still love my own costume. hee hee. It gave me the hyper vibe! and to the WMSO Committee, thank you for organizing it.

Yes, that's me as one of my fave chocolates of all-time!

fun performances + and the kick-ass crowd = Awesome night!

And the very next day, after a sunny week, the clouds and the rain came to pay us a visit. According to the weather forecast, they're going to be here for the whole week.

Let's pray that its the sun's turn next week.

For now, its time to stay home, and start my readings. and do my homework.

and layan Snow Patrol.

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Snow Patrol's Run - currently on repeat

Have a good week before the holiday guys :)

August 31st...

Marked Malaysia's 51st Year of Independence.
Marked our Malaysian Night: A Royal Tribute.
Marked the day NZ announced Ramadhan starts tomorrow.

Its not the same back then, back in school days, as the teachers made us sing the patriotic songs every week, encouraged us to decorate the class which in the end it'll look like an exhibition and organized Merdeka-related activities for the whole month of August. And back home, you'll see Merdeka-related adverts, TV shows and etc. They'll be parade. And fireworks.

But I don't see all that when I'm here in Wellington.

I miss all that :( hmm..

apa2pon, I am proud to be a Malaysian! Altho I admit sometimes I became a little bit paranoid and scared when I read about what has been happening in back home. Maybe its just me. haha. And I pray to God that Malaysia will retain its Independence til the end of time. Amin :)

Sempena Merdeka saya bertekad ingin menghabiskan "The Malay Dillemma" yang tak habis2 dibaca. haha. Pemalas nak buat macam mana kan? =P

Like everyone else, I'd like to thank the Malaysian Night 2008 committee for the simple yet amazing night! & congratulations to all of you, for your hard work, your effort, for everything. They're all worth it right? I am sure everyone had fun, plus the food is super nice! Intercontinental haven't let us down so far. To me this year has been different than the last Malaysian Night, as these people used a different approach to entertain us all. Love the award-segments (the clips from Haziq is simple yet saya suka!), the lucky-pop/draw (altho I'm a bit sad because I didn't win the grand prize. Well, I am not a lucky person anyway :P), and I still enjoy watching the performances! altho they have performed it before. And The Achantek is funny :)

Kudos to everyone else too, for the effort you guys had in dressing up & for joining us all for the night. Tq Tq :D

Oh and thanks to everyone who have voted for me. Btw who chose the picture? Sangat mesra alam. Actually I was hoping to get highest vote for "the eligible bachelorette", can? just kidding. he he. I miss Tinkerbell tho. Wonder where she is. I can't remember the cat I saw yesterday was either Tinkerbell or Pumpkin. But she didn't make noise when I saw her. Probably that's Pumpkin, the quiet one.

I am still gathering pictures from everyone else. How I wished my camera works nicely at night. So peeps! if you can see a hobbit wearing maroon baju kurung in ur pictures, don't be scared but let me know alright? Maybe I'll post up a few photos from Haz & Nonie in the next entry.

That's all for now. I think I should sleep early tonite cuz tomorrow is the first day of Ramadhan. To all my muslim friends, I wish you Selamat Berpuasa & Mohon Maaf Zahir & Batin, if I terkasar bahasa ke, if I do anything wrong to you.

Let's hope we all can 'menahan diri'. From eating too much, from talking too much, from making more sins. Lets make peace with everyone. and I hope this month will bring us all closer to Allah S.W.T. Amin :)

The first day of Puasa and I'm not healthy. Dugaan...

The F Word.

We're the F Word! haha. Seriously the name is a bit... distinctive don't you think? tepahape la sikit. But I love it anyway since Qilah gave the name :D he he.

So this morning we woke up eaarrllyyy in the morning with the aim to race &

1. To at least not reaching the last checkpoint the last.
2. To have F-U-N!

Palie was complaining when we arrived at the starting point as he doesn't get his coffee. When the coffeeholic didn't get his coffee... paham2 jela kan. So I told him to chill as along the way we might get some for him.

There were 6 groups. They divide us into three big groups; Group A&B. We the F Word is in Group A.

So off we went. To our first stop - The Civic Square. We didn't take photos when we're there but we do have a short clip. We're supposed to pass frisbee for 10 times in a row without fumbling. Knowing us the not-so-athletic (or not athletic at all?) bunch of kids, of course we took quite awhile to even warm up and get the momentum!

We were left behind by the first team, but since the next checkpoint is the Railway Station, I know how to go there quite fast! So we managed to catch up! whee~

Told Palie that there's Halo cafe in the station. He said he'll buy his coffee once we get to our checkpoint...

So we arrived. And

They asked us to either...

Meet...

& Greet these Guardians of Westpac Stadium!

or do a Sudoku. of course running is so much better when I can't help but to feel the puzzle must be hard. Haha. Usually we don't bother to take photos with these statues. But this time we do!

Then they gave us the next clue... by playing the "telephone rosak" (is that the name of the game) but instead of whispering, they write on our backs! haha. But it was quite easy to get it right :)

Palie didn't buy his coffee... cuz we went the other way. to the bus stop.

So off we went to the Opera House. As usual I always thought it's near courtenay as I always thought its the St James theatre. We took the bus (supposed to tag the snapper but I don't know why I actually used Fazuin's coins! was too busy to even search the snapper in my bag!) and stopped at Courtenay only to realized dah terlajak. Dah jenuh lari.

The next task was... funny I'd say. We have to get one stranger to recite 'pantun' with us. I used the normal "dua tiga kucing berlari" pantun and we manage to get this man to help us:

I actually forgot to ask him to take a photo with us. So I manage to take his back :p. Anyhoots, to this man I'd want to shout "Uncle you rock-lahhhh!!!"

When we completed the task, we were given jumbled-up alphabets that we're supposed to susun to get our next clue. This one is also funny cuz we took quite a long time to figure out! Other teams manage to go first as they just can guess very quickly.

It's supposed to be a very simple and known place. Instead while figuring out I got weird2 names like.. PLANET AMIR. Managed to figure out when I decided to use the map to see Wgtn's landmarks.

...oh its PARLIAMENT!

I feel like I'm such a bimbo! ni mesti sebab tak main wordo dah lama dah!

So off we went. To the parliament. And we had another task of snapping photos. one...the politician-in-front-of-the-parliament pose... which we copied the statute's pose...

Also pics of us with something which has the same color with our clothes.
I picked yellow!

Fazuin and her almost-red leaves...

And Palie the easiest as they're so many brown leaves right now.

We'd like to thank God for giving 4 seasons weather and let the trees age :D he he.

And we also need to pose as...
Monkeys! Jadi takkkk??

End of the second task. They led us to Plimmer Steps. And as expected, we have to count the stairs. Haha. Up and down we went to count. Apparently there's a slight miscommunication with the organizer happened.. and adala ter-emo sikit. Ah well, thats what happened when you're feeling the pressure. besides, baru best bile ada kecoh2 sikit right? he he. Controversy sikit.

We managed to finish off the first in our Groupings on that task and they led us to Te Papa. Hoh this is the part where I feel like killing someone! haha don't get me wrong. I was just stressed out when we're supposed to look for the next person at the next checkpoint, and what makes it hard is.. apparently the person who supposed to wait for us is not even there! It becomes another new task... the unexpected one in fact by just searching. We asked around, we even made a tour around Te papa. Spent a very loonggg time there! and when we found him, he just led us on to the next checkpoint.

...and I was like "That's it? I want a task. not another checkpoint!!"

Emo la plak time tu. ahhahahah!!! When we're stressed out and the luck wasn't at our side. mesti lah geram kannn??

but let's see the bright side. Come to think of it, baru mencabar right??

So we went to Oriental Bay. and Palie hasn't got his coffee. He should have spent some time buying coffee while we look for the checkpoint guy.

Ah well...

The next task was also as interesting as the ones before, cuz this time one of us have to be buried under the Oriental Bay's pasir2. And of course I'd do it cuz #1 : tak penah kene tanam #2 : fun-size kan? cepat sikit. Haaa one of the plus points of being fun-size ppl B).

Sayang takde picture cuz apparently Pawang who supposed to help us recorded a video instead of picture. Maybe I'll try to post the short clip. hehe.

Numbed and effing cold. That's the feelings that I felt. Almaklumlah, it was raining and the beach is not dry. Because of that I can't even wear my shoes (I really cannot feel a thing) so I ended up running (or maybe walking :p.. actually) barefooted to the next checkpoint; Hadi Gari.

As expected again, theres a task which one of us had to eat(and sing Negaraku first...) . But the unexpected part was, we didn't know even Palie cannot take the burning hotness & spiciness of the kebab he had. Myself & Fazuin can't even eat spicy stuffs so we had to give it to Palie. So sorry dude. It was really really really hot. Kesian giler. But we're sooo proud of youuu B)

But I heard Mr Poon makan tanpa perasaan. Juga Mr Shaqz. Betul kan?? jeles gile wey.

Next was somewhere very near; the Readings Cinemas. We were given a kakuro. Haha. Something that I never tried before. Thank God Palie is the math teacher to be, so we manage to do it quite fast. I can handle Sudoku. But not Kakuro. Can't get used to a new thing fast.

Then they led us to the next check point. The level 8 carpark. Where we have to blow a balloon till it pops. This one is very hard okay. Haha. It took us awhile jugaklah. We finished it anyway, and they gave us one chart for us to the next checkpoint. Oh along the way, they gave us weird romans letters (romans kan..? the one with Beta, Roe, Gama etc) so we have to figure out using those clues. As usual, we're indeed SUPER SLOW when we tried to figure out that one. haha.

Last2 dapat gak. Kelburn Quad.

Apparently it was 12.10pm. The bus #23 will arrive at 12.20. So we decided to walk up.

And it was really fast I think. was it 20 minutes walk? fuhh...!!!

And yeah we arrived. And at that point I just realized... its overrr.

We finished the fourth. But I'm fine with it. Not the last to arrive. And and the luck wasn't at our side. as usual... hehe.

Its just a game anyway. The fun is important. Thats what matters.

Although I feel, it'd be more fun if the tasks were a bit long. Certainly I don't fancy running around wgtn for 10kms (okay I took a bus, twice :P) long. I'm not fit. haha. that's why.

andd... I feel it'd be more fun if more people join us. Wonder where were all of them? Probably they're too busy :( So sad Nana cudn't join us. Hopefully she'll feel better by the end of this week.

So what I learnt from this race:

#1 No matter how you wanna try to be relaxed, when you're in a race... its hard to keep up dat pace. I feel my team has become a bit tensed towards the end, which is less fun. And maybe we shud keep in mind that its just a game, so that maybe we can shoot more videos & photos. I can feel the tension coming from myself too. Well like I said, we can't help it. But I still love my team the F-word, cuz I think you guys rocked. Sorryla if I didn't contribute much, but I do enjoy racing with you guys. And yeah... hope u guys feel the same way :)

#2 Orang Kedah makan pedas giler weh. Well not all of us, but most of us I'd say. Look at Poon & Shaqz and they're both Kedahans.

#3 Don't use Snapper while you're on a race. I've been bragging to other people that we have Snapper la la la... then when I'm racing I forgot to untag my Snapper before I go down! Dammit there goes my money. I don't know how much, hopefully its not much. Ah well whats the maximum rate again? $3.50 right?

Qilah sure you gelak kan I kan??

#4 Kakuro is actually FUN. Maybe I should start getting used to it. Not just Sudoku. Hehe.

To the Organizers, kudos to you guys. Thank you for organizing such event. Quite good for a first timer (it was the first time WMSO organized it right?). Well shit do happens but that's alright. No biggie B). 0-0 lah ye sbb kami ni emo :P haha. and hopefully it'd be more mencabar next year. If I'm still around I'll try to join :D hee.

To the Winners. What else should I say? CONGRATULATIONS it is.. :D like.. duhh! haha.

To the Non-Winners (like us) You guys rock. At least we finished the game kannn? whee!! Good game lah. At least we're not so far away from each other. Competitive sikit :D he he

Oh... and Palie still didn't get his coffee. Langsung tak. Kesian die.

I'm so happy that I can actually write what happened from the eye of a contestant. I envied the participants (from the Amazing Race Leadership Course's version) as they get to race while me? I have to organize it. Not fun okay. But it was memorable. A very different experience. Okay2 I lied. It was fun. Kenekan orang. haha. gurau jekk.

Like I mentioned just now, it was different.
