It's a nice sunny Sunday!

U2's Walk On is currently on repeat.

Yes, finally the holiday has started. I am so happy! No waking up
early for classes. No going out to classes. In short, no classes! Haha.
I have plenty ideas on what I want to do for this mid-term break. I
want to go on a train ride. Long distance train ride. I wanna do my
beading and painting. I wanna watch as many movies as I can. That's
like my holiday ritual kan. I wanna start reading my new novel. And
finish it before the school starts. And I want to spend more time at
the beach when the weather is just perfect for me to be out.

Like today.

I am at the beach now. Drafting this. Will post it as soon as I get
back.

This is super relaxing. Qilah is reading New Moon right now, and
Husna is lying down, sun bathing. I just got my feet soaked in the
water - nice cooling water. Now the bottom of my pants are soaked too;
and now the beach sands are all over my pants and feet.

It feels so good to be able to spend my Sunday like this. Best giler.

I love Wellington.

I know most of my plans won't work out like how I want them to be.

So I'm gonna cherish today like it'll never last.

Happy holidays everyone!

Journal untuk Nonie : Bo Geygey Trip [Part 2]

We got ready quite late. Later than the time we planned to leave. The day before was long. Thats why we were tired.

At about 10am, we drove up to Turoa. There were 2 ski resorts at Mt Ruapehu, one is Whakapapa & the other is the one we went to. Its the newer one I heard. I don't know which one is better though. Cuz that was my first time.

We decided to go snowboarding than skiing. My reason? Snowboarding looks more stylish and cooler. That was Vivy & my reason. Vivy I wish you were there too =(. Oh I soo want another time up there. To ski. And maybe another round of snowboarding too. Heh.

Anyway, we were supposed to take a lesson before we go on our own. But apparently there has been a miscommunication, which took Nana almost an hour to actually solved it with the customer service & the equipment people as there were no instructors for us at our scheduled lesson. Weird, but yeah that happened. Almost an hour were wasted on registering, and getting our equipments & wearing 'em. Another one hour to settle the 'small problem'.

We chose to go up to the intermediate range. Well, we're looking for some little adventure of course. So we think the beginner range is not that adventurous. And none of us have tried this before. Belagak kan? Aqilah & Haz decided not to join us so they went sledging, enjoying the snow and building up little Mat Kool.

Mat Kool Mat Kool Kawanku,
Mari kita ikut, Mat Kool!
Main main, selalu!
Syoknya syoknya ada Mat Kool!
tenet tenet tenet (the music)
p/s: do you guys remember Mat Kool the ice cream mascot song?

As for the six of us; Nana, Imran, Fazuin, Fifi, Naqib & I, we took the chairlift to the lower mountains. It took us awhile to get the gear stuck on our feet, and to move it back and forth while sliding on a flat ground. Haha.

The first time were torturous, because we kept on falling. Don't know what happened but there's one time I accidentally got my knee twisted. I think that is the most painful. Other than that the falls were not so bad. We fell hard but its not too painful as it was covered with snow. We don't know how to control ourselves. Or to stop the boards from sliding too fast. Or to rise again after we fell. Terasa badan ni berat. haha.

There was a little drama when Fifi accidentally go off the track and he fell down to the little gaung. Suddenly Nana heard someone shouting "tolong, tolong!". We both went to the side of the track to check out who's down there and we saw Fifi. He was alright, except that he injured himself (but minor only) and he couldn't climbed back up as it was quite steep. Nana & I suggested a few things for him to do and we manage to help him. Thank God. But since he was injured (dangerous for him to take the risk), he decided not to continue with the route so he went down together with Fazuin to helped him out using the chairlift.
Down to just four of us.

We look cool don't we? =P

It took us an hour (or more :p) to actually arrived at the bottom of the mountains. Towards the end we finally got our momentum in controlling the boards. The weather at that point of time were alright although it was a bit cloudy. It rained before that. Snow fall down right after the rain and that made us more excited.

We rested for awhile. And we tried sledging. Haha that was fun! Suddenly I feel like I'm Calvin. If only I have a tiger plush toy then I can have Hobbes to come with me. But to climb back up the hill was tiring. Haha. The boots were really heavy. And I am tired from snowboarding. Thats why.

Snapped a few photos:

That's Haz & I. Looking away pose?

Naqib & I. I don't look so short! yeayy

Yours truly with her board. Love the color. But the board was upside down. haha.

Was waiting for Nana & Imran to get a photo with them. But then they wanted to go up for the second time. Since I don't feel the puas-ness, I followed them again. It started to hail. But that doesn't stop us to go up.

The second time. Well I can control the board on where to go. But still cannot control the speed. I let myself fall just to stop the board from moving forward. The weather tortured us this time. It was painful when you fell down. Maybe its because of the thick snow. Thick and compact. The hail was like 'slapping' our faces. We should have covered ourselves, but yeah we're not prepared for that weather. Towards the end there was a big gigantic machine was following us at the back. That big thing was doing some maintenance routine (ratakan snow), well its nearly 4pm and that place was going to close. Maybe that is why that machine was doing its work at that time. I was afraid cuz I feel like it was chasing me. So I slide down faster. Haha. I leave everyone else just because I was afraid. Although I knew that big machine won't do anything to us, still, I was afraid. Drama giler kan?

I was soaking wet. Everyone else too.

We went down and had dinner. Then we left Ohakune. Drove back to Palmy and stopped at a cool coffee shop to have desserts. After that we paid the Palmy peeps a visit. Played SingStar & Buzz. Hah Buzz was fun! Love that game although I lost badly. haha. I don't care.

We arrived home at about 2 am in the morning. Super exhausted! But Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely. And nothing bad happened during our trip :)

The end of day 2.

How I wished the pics were nicer. And how I wished I have more pics. The weather stopped us from snapping more. I have a few shots in mind, but then again, the weather. Oh I didn't get to do my own snowman =(

But thats fine, cuz we did play snowball fights along the way. And now I can ticked off "snowboarding" from my to-do list before I die. haha okay I actually don't have that list for real, but snowboarding has always been something that I really want to do. Now I need to do Sky Diving & Bungee Jumping. Give me money & time. I'll definitely do them!

So yeah thats my 2-day journal for you, Nonie. And I share it with you readers as well.

To the peeps who joined, thank you for the greatest time I had :D I don't mind doing it again! And maybe next time we can invite others (Nonie & Vivian especially) to join us too.

And to you readers, hopefully you enjoy reading. They were a bit long, but a lot happened in just 2 long days, and I feel like sharing 'em with you.

In a way, the posts can help me to keep the memories I had of this trip. So that I won't forget how wonderful it was.

Bo Geygey!

Journal untuk Nonie : Bo Geygey Trip [Part 1]

It was Wednesday, and I woke up at 11 am. Considered early as I slept at 4 am the night before, after a loongg journey back home from Turoa, Mt. Ruapehu. I waited til Nonie woke up. And when I saw she's no longer idle, I buzz-ed her and went to her room. Haha... okay this may sound corny but yeah, I miss her! Maybe cuz I really want her to come with us. She decided not to join us at the last minute. Cuz she's still not well. If only she was healthier =(

Anyway, we updated each other. The 2-day stories were told. And yeah, I told her in excitement, as if I'm still in the trip. I was very happy indeed. Haven't felt this for quite long.

Then I remembered something. Since I know she'll understand this, so I blurted "Bo Geygey!".

And Nonie couldn't understand me. Haha. Fail! I can never speak Malay in Kelantanese slang. Ah well, I can't understand it in the first place. I remembered my college days, my collegemates can chat in Kelantanese slang wey. I'm impressed. And whenever we had conferences, Afan & Daniaal will start 'kecek kelate' and I'll go "er.. err..". At one point Afan will definitely replied "Kesian Mexx, dahla tu Daniaal". Hah college days. I kinda miss that :(

Anyway, I finally manage to get myself out of Wellington. Awaaayyy from the hecticness. Actually I have been avoiding things since the holiday started. And I think this is the 'climax' for this 2-week holiday. Alhamdulillah. I experienced a lot of things and although it was only 2 days, its enough to make me remember it forever. Great company. How I wished Nonie was with us too.

There were 8 of us. 2 cars. 1 hella good journey.

We woke up early to prepare snacks & breakfast for the journey. At about 1045am Naqib & Fifi came by to fetch us. Then we fetched Haz. And off we go.

I brought Nonie's CDs as our entertainment for the whole journey. No Nonie, her CDs oso can lah. Texted Imran so that we cn borrow his AUX jack. But apparently, there were no CD player in the car! Not even a cassette player, and the AUX jack! Haha. Thank God for the new technology, we can still use our handphones. Although it wasn't as loud as the speakers, but at least they kept us entertained. Well, with the help of the 2 loudest people in the car of course =P I pity the driver & the co-driver. Haz wasn't bad though. Haha but me? ... sorry guys! Anyway, all four of us lovee to talk so yeah, that kept us entertained & wide awake too.

Oh by the way, in our car we have : Naqib, Qilah, Haz and Yours Truly.

Learnt a few things while we were in the car:
  1. My playlist is kinda... depressing. And I didn't realized that. Usually I'll choose the songs that I can 'layan' while I'm walking, or when I'm in the car, or the bus, alone. If the songs were too fun I'll feel like wanting to dance or something. So yeah that explains why :P.
  2. Since we were not prepared with our own roadtrip playlist, we have to live with what we have. And this time we really want those malay songs! If only I brought my lappie with me. Maybe we all can sing all KRU songs I have in my collection. I have to remember this next time: we need more malay songs next time!
  3. Our favorites were MIKAs, Destiny's Childs, Bagaikan Sakti, Perpisahan, and a few other Malay songs. Indonesians too.
We stopped by at Lindale for the ice cream (of course), then off to Palmy to fetch Nana & Imran, had lunch and shop for groceries. Then we continued our trip... to Ohakune, the carrot capital.

Arrived to our accommodation at about 7:45pm. For the first time, we made noises without being warned! Usually when I travel, especially with family, we always got the neighbours knocking asking us to keep quiet. Ah well, when the 'four brothers' sat together in one place, how can we stopped making noises? haha. And this place is quite classic you know, they still use VHS! Rented a few tapes, but ended up letting the movie 'Bone Collector' watch us while we played our favourite Board Game 'Imaginifff...' and had our priceless pillow talk session.

And that's when we learnt the phrase "Bo Geygey!".

Thanks to Naqib. Haha. Oh that was one of the best pillow talk sessions I had. Maybe the best I had for the year? We just couldn't stop did we? Even when there's 10 second earthquake. Haha oh yes people! for the first time, I finally experienced earthquake! It was quite long, 10 seconds I think. 5-10.. in between that. We managed to look at each other, and also the surroundings while it happened. That long alright. Haha. Maybe there's longer but I don't know, that was my first time =P

Other than Bo Geygey and Earthquake, I discovered:
  1. that most of us went to Globe Silk Store to get our school uniforms!
  2. we have weird2 ambitions back then such as Cashier, Toll guy/girl, Elevator attender (is that what you call it? The one who helped us push the buttons of the elevator) and Ustazah. Haha.
  3. we all hated that blue colored eraser that supposed to do wonder for us as it claimed that we can erase the ink of the pen when it actually made holes in our books.
  4. Fifi remembered the price difference of Tora & DingDang.
From childhood stories to business strategies. From the past to the present. We shared our childhood stories, our schools' stories; and our experiences on many things. That was how wide our topics were. Indeed, the conversations were priceless. It ended at 3am.

The end of day 1.

A damn long entry. Hope you won't get bored :)

Exactly 32 minutes left before the clock strikes 12. We're entering the new day soon. In 32 minutes.

Ah its already Sunday. Exactly a week has passed. Well I was busy on Saturday so that doesn't count as a holiday. So yeah, exactly one week.

I am so behind the schedule. How I wished I am more strict on myself. Well, I don't know whether all of you ever felt this, I am pretty sure you guys had/have a time where you feel that you need more rest, you have been working hard for the past few weeks/months, so you think you deserve this 'rest'. I have that feeling for a long time already. Hah senang cerita, pemalas la kan. Procrastination.

Honestly? I know I have been like this since forever. The new term started in early July. So 6 weeks have passed. I only picked up the pace at the fourth week. I think. Or was it later? I don't know. But not 100%. I still slack around. There are times where I didn't realized that the datelines are so near, and there are times where I only realized that there's an assignment due in a few hours and I haven't started anything.

Its been awhile since the last time I actually sat down to see all my datelines, jotting down stuffs in my VUWSA planner, read something useful when I am free. And my parents have to pester me in completing a 4-pages borang for a month. A freaking month. Which actually I can only do it in 2 nights with complete required documents attached to it. Apparently the scanner decided not to work on me tonight.

Let's hope it will work later. I'll go straight to Nonie's room to scan it right after this.

Okay let's see... I have been an active in crapping for this month. Except for this whole one week. Every single morning I opened this page. The Create Post page. And yet I can't type out anything in the box. I was telling myself "c'mon farah. write something. find something to blab"

And I can't. I just can't.

So I go through my days with movies, and more movies. And I cook some food to eat. Nonie is sick so I am taking care of her now. How I wished she's better so she can go out with me :( And I hang out more often. I spend the day time walking in town. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend as company. I had fun. I was in tears, in laughter. I was calm. Had some great conversations. A lot has been running through my mind. Well I love to think too much kan. Ah well. And it strikes me, that I have only 2 months plus before my degree ends (given I passed this term's papers... amin).

Degree dah nak habis? Whoa.

And Aqilah, 2 months left, and I am scared. I pretend not to feel scared :p Time flies so fast kan?

I am trying to give myself another year of schooling, then off I go, into the workforce.

I am not ready for this.

and yes. I am pretty sure next year is going to be different. Honestly? I feel the difference now. No need to wait til next year. They are getting clearer. I sometimes hate myself for thinking too much. Things that I'm worried of because they might happen, slowly becoming a reality.

This week also has been the 'bayar puasa' week. Ibu laughed when she knew I am fasting now. She asked "why so late?". Well, I just laughed back. The plans to fast during winter didn't quite worked out. Too busy I guess I can't risk myself having days of lacking the energy, and also blood.

Oh speaking of which, I think I am still anemic. And I don't care to eat the iron pills. I kinda live with this tiredness. Sometimes I feel like fainting but since I am still under control, I just let it be.

Anyway,

The movie choices I had for this week. I watched The Dark Knight for the second time, and I got the nice seat, and good company. We always had fun in the cinema didn't we Aqilah? To my surprise, the cinema is still full although The Dark Knight is on screen for quite awhile already. Let's hope it'll beat Titanic. Wait let's go check out..

Ranked the second. Still cannot beat Titanic. Dammit.

Seriously what about Titanic that made everybody love watching?

Okay other than that, I watched I am Legend, Awake, Meet the Spartans, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Mr Beans Holiday, A Walk to Remember, Disturbia, Almost-half of Zombie Kampung Pisang, Monty Python & the Holy Grail (I got bored this time. But I still laughed... hehe), Imagine Me & You, Tristan & Isolde (like... finally!) and Before Sunrise (Haha now I can see things more clearly. I am so going to watch Before Sunset again). Oh I forgot, watched Spiderman on TV too. Thats 14 including The Dark Knight. Like 2 a day? Okay I break my own record.

What other out-of-the-norms thing I did? I had 4 bubble teas in just a week, and I think this is something not really normal for me too. I wasn't a fan. Til I don't know when, suddenly it becomes my favourite.

I replayed Tristan & Isolde's scenes the whole night last night. I don't know. It feels sad watching that movie. Depressing alright. But I still watch it anyway. Maybe its the look at Tristan's face when he suffers and trying to hide em at the same time, his words, knowing all the sacrifices he made despite the pain he has to go through. They made me feel like watching it again, and again.

Why someone like "Tristan" only exists in movies?

Or the guy in Imagine Me & You. The husband who has been cheated by his wife who suddenly realized she loves a girl. He's so sweet, and its sad that the wife likes another woman. Or Landon Carter in A Walk to Remember. There are a few other characters that I love while watching those movies. Okay maybe they exist in this real world, but seriously, they're rare. Haha. I know, its mean for me to say that. Maybe I haven't really met one. So I can't really tell right. Plus, I have lived for only 20 years. Not that long to say such things.

Too much of movies. I am starting to live in a fantasy. *snap snap* I really have to get back to the reality.

But that made me think, if my life is being filmed, will it be one interesting movie? Will my character will be remembered forever? Will it gives a huge impact to other people? I really hope so. I have learn a lot about life. I have been thinking hard. This week, I kinda have some conclusions about life. about people. I feel like writing a book you know, haha. Okay that's a joke :p Not funny right?

Anyway, I think I should sleep now. Tomorrow is going to be my last day fasting before the real fasting month comes.

This is really long. And I don't know whether it sums up how I feel for the whole week. Basically I just blabbed whatever I feel like saying.

its 12:38 am. Exactly one hour and 10 minutes from the time I started this entry.

I should stop. Probably just start another entry if I feel like writing more.

Lets hope the remaining week before the school starts will still be sunny. Cuz I really want to have that ice-cream-sitting-at-the-harbour time again.
